Today
I have a couple spooky photos to post and will in awhile. But meanwhile, check out the Halloween photo Marie's posted on Blue Ridge Blog and definitely don't miss her recent photos from her deck. Heaven!

More lovely photos from further north
South Knox Bubba has posted some great fall color photographs from the Cumberland Gap. Amazing how much more intense the color is just a couple hundred miles further north.
Fletch at Austin Country Limits continues to post beautiful photos from the Smokies, most recently Oconoluftee and Smokemont. Also, Fletch links to this site from VirtualBlueRidge.com that shows 360 degree views from each of the Blue Ridge Parkway's 200 + overlooks.
On the other hand, I haven't been taking pictures the last few days. The leaves are falling and I haven't gotten out much...my other job is taking quite a bit of my time right now. Plus, other people's photos just look so much better. I'm planning on spending some time reworking my Web site so I can post some photos directly rather than through Hello! . That should improve things.

WNC in the spotlight
The congressional race for the seat held (for a long, long time) by Charles Taylor is getting lots of attention in the political Websites. Daily Kos says challenger Patsy Keever has a good chance of unseating him. Atrios has Keever as one of the House candidates most worth supporting.

For better photos
More fall photos from the Smokies from South Knox Bubba (including a lovely picture of Gatlinburg ... yes, from some angles...)

Missed opportunity
Today we went to the Celebration of Flight airshow at Murphy-Andrews airport. Too bad, when I went to take the first photo I discovered I'd left the memory card at home.
It was a cloudy day, not good for an airshow, but it was still a blast watching the crowd and how they appreciated the parachutists, aerobatic planes, forest service water drop, and the chance to climb around aircraft on the ground. I'm sure someone got good photos.
And I'll bet the performers were impressed by this beautiful valley airstrip surrounded by incredible mountains. Bet they'll be back....

Smokyblog is back.
Fletch, who now does the photoblog called Austin Country Limits is back in the Smokies (just visiting?) and posting some beautiful photographs from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Cherohala Skyway. Don't miss his lament for the hemlocks.
(I posted this the other day but it somehow got wiped out when I used Hello! to post new photos. That's disturbing.)
